North and South committees run the Scottish New Generation Group on a voluntary basis.
The groups organises a programme of seminars, meetings, site visits, debates and other social events that provide valuable information and an opportunity to meet and socialise.
These activities are aimed at students, graduates, young professional waste managers and those new to the waste industry. Events are either free of charge or at minimal cost.
The aims of the Scottish New Generation Group are to:
- Encourage new members to participate in the work of the CIWM.
- Raise the profile of the CIWM across all age ranges in the waste industry.
- Develop a dialogue between new and established members.
- Network with educational establishments and all sectors of the waste industry.
- Introduce career opportunities in waste management.
- Promote membership of the CIWM.
