The JC Dawes Bursary offers £2000 to finance travel and subsistence on a research or study programme into wastes management or related subjects.

The award is open to Chartered Waste Managers (MCIWM and FCIWM) for a study programme in a country other than that in which they normally reside.  Previous winners have examined clinical waste segregation in Canada and Finland, construction and demolition waste in post-conflict Sri Lanka, and the promotion of small resource recovery businesses in Southern Africa.
